Frequently Asked Questions
What types of issues can your office assist with?
We help residents navigate state government services, including unemployment benefits, TennCare assistance, driver's license issues, state agency concerns, and recognizing community achievements through official citations.
Are there things your office cannot help with?
As a state-level office, we cannot intervene in private legal matters, provide legal advice, or resolve federal issues (like Social Security, VA benefits, or Passports). For federal help, we can connect you with your U.S. Congressional representative.
How long does a response usually take?
Our office reviews all constituent requests as they are received. You can typically expect an initial response within 3 to 5 business days. Complex inquiries involving state agencies may take longer for a full resolution.
What information should I include in my request?
Please include your full name, home address, phone number, and a detailed description of your situation. If your issue involves a state agency, including any claim numbers or prior correspondence will speed up the process.
How do I submit an achievement request?
To request a recognition for a personal or community achievement, please use the 'Recognizing Achievements' option on this page. Click the 'Request One' button, briefly describe the achievement, and include any key details or dates in your message so our office can properly honor the occasion.
